Mas Be Airlines 馬龍航空

Mas Be Airlines 馬龍航空

Background
Mas-Be Airlines , the aviation arm of the Malaysia-Beijing Group of Companies, was officially launched by Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun Dr. Ling Liong Sik, former Minister of Transport and currently, Chairman of UTAR Council, in a simple ceremony held at the Eastin Hotel in Petaling Jaya on 24 September 2004.

Despite its seemingly short history, Mas-Be Airlines is no stranger to the aviation industry. It started as a department within Malaysia-Beijing Travel Services Sdn Bhd (MBTS) which, since 1989 and until recently, had been a major player in the chartered flight business.

In the period spanning 15 years, MBTS Chartered Flight Department steadily expanded in terms of business turnover as well as scope of activities. By the second half of 2004, the need to elevate it to that of a separate, stand-alone corporate entity and a full-fledged member of the aviation industry seemed apparent and inevitable. In September 2004, such a transformation became all the more pressing and imminent following its decision to operate scheduled flights between Kuala Lumpur and Haikou in Southern China in collaboration with Hainan Airlines of China. Thus, the incorporation of MAS-BE Airlines Sendirian Berhad which uses MasBe Airlinesas its abbreviated name as well as the trade mark for its products.

Heading its Board of Directors as Chairman is none other than Tan Sri Dato?(Dr.) Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman, former Managing Director of Malaysia Airlines System (MAS) who brings with him 15 years of invaluable aviation experience.
